Today Art Museum, Peking
The exhibition aims to bring the diversity of the German art scene closer to the Chinese audience
by showing a variety of works from established and emerging artists in Beijing. Painting, sculpture, installation, photography and video art will be simultaneously on view at eight different, renowned museums throughout Beijing. New works as well as key works by the most important artists will highlight the historical developments in German art from 1945 to present day and focus on current subjects in the arts.
Julian Rosefeldt presents his 4-channel film installation My home is a dark and cloud-hung land (2011).
It is thematically bound to the German concept of ‘Heimat’ (homeland)
and focusses on the forest as a central and ambivalent motif, omnipresent in German history and culture.
